Mediated Oregon Divorce Timeline

PARENT EDUCATION CLASS
(must complete before Decree with Parenting Plan can be signed)

AGREEMENT DRAFTED BY MEDIATOR
(clients review on their own and with their attorneys if they choose)

FINAL MEDIATED AGREEMENT SIGNED

LEGAL PAPERS PREPARED
(clients prepare their own papers OR one client brings to his or her attorney to attach to legal forms OR cleints use paralegal service)

LEGAL PAPERS SIGNED
(if prepared by one client's attorney, the other client may have his or her attorney review)

FILE LEGAL PACKET WITH COURT
(including filing fee, Petition, Motion to Waive 90-day waiting period and Decree with Mediated Agreement attached)

COURT PROCESSES PAPERS,
SENDS TO JUDGE TO SIGN,
JUDGE SIGNS, SENDS TO CLERKS
TO ENTER INTO RECORD
(can include copies of the Decree with self-addressed envelopes to get certified copy returned, otherwise, you or your attorney will receive a notice of your effective date of divorce - the date of entry in the record)
